Hello! My name is Carlie Dugué and I am from Indiana. I'm currently a high school senior. I joined State of Mind because mental health is important to me. Both of my parents work in the mental health field, and so I grew up with mental health being de-stigmatized. I recognize what a privilege it is that mental health has never been taboo in my house, and how open my parents have always been when talking about how I feel. So, I realized that I wanted to help other people feel the same way, and not feel so embarrassed about whatever they may be going through. I hope to make other people feel like they have a place to turn without having to feel embarrassed, and feel comfortable with themselves, and whatever may be going on in their life. I look forward to working with everyone!

Even though I'm currently in High School, I'm interested in majoring in Psychology.

Hi! My name is Angela and I am the Onboarding Coordinator for State of Mind. Having friends who have mental illnesses made me realize that mental health really isn’t talked about enough. I know people who are scared or don’t want to admit that they have a mental health illness because it makes them seem weak, and those that believe that mental health issues are used as excuses to not work properly or to take breaks. I joined State of Mind because I want to help break the stigma around mental health and bring awareness to the fact that mental health is just as important as physical health is. In my freetime, you can find me in a library, reading a book or writing a story.
Hi, my name is Ritu Shivani Suddapalli. In my spare time, I love dancing, painting, playing tennis, and spending time with family. I am so happy to be a part of the State of Mind team and am super happy to be able to contribute to such a great organization!
My name is Lakshmi Kovuri but I commonly go by my nickname, Lucky. I'm a junior at Independence High School and the Academies of Loudoun, and I reside in Brambleton, Virginia. I enjoy learning about medicine, psychology, and wildlife. I have been playing the piano for around 10 years and I love walking outside and visiting my community lake! I'm a Mental Health Partnership Coordinator here at State of Mind, and I'm so excited to be a part of this organization and work with the team. I'm passionate about mental health advocacy and medicine, and I strive to become a psychiatrist in the future. I work as the south regional manager of Medpath, a researcher at The OCD Truth, the secretary of the Academies of Loudoun's Red Cross Youth club, and the co-founder of Independence's calligraphy club — I hope to help and touch people emotionally and bring awareness to issues pertaining to various aspects of health through these positions. It is imperative that we devote time to focus on overall health, especially mental health, for our present, future, and general wellbeing as maturing humans. My name is Angeline Shir and I am a rising junior at Milpitas High School in California. I was born and raised in the Bay Area! Some fun facts about me are that I once broke my tooth in half and I only like to eat crunchy mangos. I joined State of Mind because I believe that our mental health is such an important pillar in our lives. Unfortunately, it is often the most overlooked and under cared for. Alongside the negative stigma around mental health, change seemed long over due and I wasn’t willing to just stand by and not do anything. On my journey with State of Mind, I hope to accomplish many things such as creating relationships with doctors, fellow team members, and our lovely audience. But most importantly, I hope to be one step closer to breaking the negative aura around mental health. Together, we can move in the right direction!

Hi! My name is Malyka, I am a junior from Illinois and I attend Glenbrook South Highschool. I play volleyball competitively at a club, which takes up a good majority of my time. Aside from that, I am in another nonprofit organization that works to bring teens together, and I hope to maintain my role in that as well as in this organization. I joined State of Mind as mental health is something very important to me, and something that not everyone has resources and accessibility to handle. I hope to help end the stigma as well as create awareness through my work in this organization.

Hey there! My name is Aliyah, but you can call me Ali. My pronouns are she/her, I am a video content creator here with State of Mind and am stoked to be an active part in such a fantastic organization. With that being said, what prompted me to join the team was my personal struggles with mental illness. I deal with borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, complex childhood trauma, major depressive disorder and disordered eating. I have fallen victim to the stigmas revolving around these illnesses - especially BPD - and I want to play the role as proof of the demonization being blatantly inaccurate. State of Mind equips me with both a platform and the right people to spread the awareness I am striving to provide. In my spare time, you can find me in a greenhouse buying new plants, a thrift store, or in a park with a blanket on the grass, a canvas in one hand and a paintbrush in the other.
Hi everyone! My name is Angelina, (but everyone just calls me Angie). I'm currently a mental health partnership coordinator here at State of Mind, where I assist in gathering mental health resources. Aside from this project, I also happen to run a nonprofit initiative known as Tutors4yemen. I’m from New York and I’m a junior in high school. In my free time, I love to write, or indulge in a good book. Working towards getting rid of mental health stigma has always been a big goal of mine, which is why State of mind is so important to me. I’m really excited I get to be a part of the team and I’ll do my best to help everyone involved!
